{"cve":"CVE-2026-5169","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-08T07:16:23.030","modified":"2026-07-24T20:10:00.147","status":"Deferred","description":"The Inquiry Form to Posts or Pages plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'Form Header' field in versions up to and including 1.0. This is due to insufficient input sanitization when saving via update_option() and lack of output escaping when displaying the stored value. The vulnerability exists in two locations: (1) the plugin settings page at inq_form.php line 180 where the value is echoed into an HTML attribute without esc_attr(), and (2) the front-end shortcode output at inquery_form_to_posts_or_pages.php line 139 where the value is output in HTML content without esc_html(). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to inject arbitrary web scripts that will execute whenever a user accesses the plugin settings page or views a page containing the [inquiry_form] shortcode.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":4.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/inquiry-form-to-posts-or-pages/tags/1.0/inq_form.php#L180","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/inquiry-form-to-posts-or-pages/tags/1.0/inq_form.php#L63","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/inquiry-form-to-posts-or-pages/tags/1.0/inquery_form_to_posts_or_pages.php#L139","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/inquiry-form-to-posts-or-pages/trunk/inq_form.php#L180","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/inquiry-form-to-posts-or-pages/trunk/inq_form.php#L63"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-5169","score":0.00254,"percentile":0.17042,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
