{"cve":"CVE-2026-5076","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-02T20:16:40.720","modified":"2026-07-21T19:10:00.107","status":"Deferred","description":"The ARMember Premium plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to an insecure password reset mechanism in all versions up to, and including, 7.3.1. The plugin stores a plaintext copy of the password reset key in the `arm_reset_password_key` user meta field when a user requests a password reset. This is in addition to the hashed key that WordPress core stores securely in `wp_users.user_activation_key`. The plaintext key stored in `wp_usermeta` can be used with the plugin's custom `armrp` reset action to set a new password for any user. Combined with another vulnerability such as SQL Injection (CVE-2026-5073, CVE-2026-5074), this makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to extract the plaintext reset key and take over any user account, including administrators.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-287"],"references":["https://codecanyon.net/item/armember-complete-wordpress-membership-system/17785056","https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/id/6b15eca5-fd47-4f8f-8ade-3a90e0bfc110?source=cve"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-5076","score":0.00419,"percentile":0.36254,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
