{"cve":"CVE-2026-50270","nvd":{"published":"2026-09-14T18:17:49.830","modified":"2026-09-30T17:43:24.057","status":"Awaiting Analysis","description":"dd-trace-java is a Datadog APM client for Java. Prior to 1.62.0, W3C baggage extraction does not enforce DD_TRACE_BAGGAGE_MAX_ITEMS, which defaults to 64, or DD_TRACE_BAGGAGE_MAX_BYTES, which defaults to 8192, although those limits apply during baggage injection. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a baggage HTTP header containing many comma-separated key-value pairs or a single very large value. The extraction path allocates map entries while parsing the attacker-controlled header on every request, causing unbounded CPU and memory consumption in an HTTP service where the baggage propagation style is enabled, which is the default for most affected tracers. This can cause denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 1.62.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-java/commit/16c6a5fd1fed71cef6c35f69122f19f5ee242757","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-java/pull/11265","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-java/releases/tag/v1.62.0","https://github.com/DataDog/dd-trace-java/security/advisories/GHSA-74xj-wh4w-vqxc"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:53:43.293028046+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-50270","score":0.00793,"percentile":0.56072,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-74xj-wh4w-vqxc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-74xj-wh4w-vqxc","summary":"dd-trace-java: Improper parsing of W3C baggage headers may lead to DoS","modified":"2026-07-29T05:15:34.387802861Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"com.datadoghq:dd-java-agent","purl":"pkg:maven/com.datadoghq/dd-java-agent","ranges":["<1.62.0"],"fixed":["1.62.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
