From 2.13.0 until 2.14.0, a potential Denial-of-Service exists when attacker sends deeply nested JSON if (and only if) the service reads deeply nested (1000s of levels) JSON as JsonNode (ObjectMapper.readTree()) and writes out same (or modifided) node using JsonNode.toString(). This can consume significant amount of resources with concurrent relatively small requests (1000 nested arrays is 2kB). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.14.0.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.3},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-400"],"references":["https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-databind/commit/a1fa4ae4ecf5cee16da465985f135f3e81816f8c","https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-databind/issues/3447","https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson-databind/security/advisories/GHSA-3wrr-7qpf-2prh"],"products":["fasterxml:jackson-databind"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-50193","score":0.00616,"percentile":0.49222,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-3wrr-7qpf-2prh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-3wrr-7qpf-2prh","summary":"jackson-databind: Deeply nested JsonNode throws StackOverflowError for toString()","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:55.377810854Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"com.fasterxml.jackson.core:jackson-databind","purl":"pkg:maven/com.fasterxml.jackson.core/jackson-databind","ranges":[">=2.10.0 <2.14.0"],"fixed":["2.14.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
