{"cve":"CVE-2026-50021","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-25T18:16:39.557","modified":"2026-06-29T21:15:33.397","status":"Analyzed","description":"pnpm is a package manager. Prior to 10.34.0 and 11.4.0, pnpm's tarball extraction worker skips integrity verification when the integrity field is absent from the lockfile resolution. If an attacker can both modify pnpm-lock.yaml to remove the integrity: field and cause the referenced registry URL to serve altered package content, pnpm install --frozen-lockfile can install the altered package without an integrity error. npm's npm ci enforces integrity by default; pnpm's behavior of silently skipping verification is a pnpm-specific fail-open gap. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.0 and 11.4.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-354"],"references":["https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-q6j5-fjx5-2mc3","https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-q6j5-fjx5-2mc3"],"products":["pnpm:pnpm"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:41:17.107060303+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-50021","score":0.00181,"percentile":0.07675,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-q6j5-fjx5-2mc3","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-q6j5-fjx5-2mc3","summary":"pnpm Has an Integrity Check Bypass via Missing Lockfile Integrity Field","modified":"2026-06-26T23:11:29.613886Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":[">=11.0.0 <11.4.0"],"fixed":["11.4.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","purl":"pkg:npm/pnpm","ranges":["<10.34.1"],"fixed":["10.34.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
