{"cve":"CVE-2026-50009","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-12T16:16:31.047","modified":"2026-06-17T10:57:34.923","status":"Analyzed","description":"Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to version 4.2.15.Final, Netty QUIC exposes the stateless reset token on the network path when using the default HMAC-based connection-ID and stateless-reset-token generators. The reset token for the server's current source connection ID can be derived from bytes that appear as the connection ID in QUIC headers after a source-CID rotation. An on-path attacker observing the headers can use the token to perform a Denial of Service by sending a spoofed Stateless Reset packet. Version 4.2.15.Final patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","score":4.8},"cwes":["CWE-200","CWE-330"],"references":["https://github.com/netty/netty/releases/tag/netty-4.2.15.Final","https://github.com/netty/netty/security/advisories/GHSA-cq4q-cv5g-r8q5"],"products":["netty:netty"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:38:48.522727527+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-50009","score":0.00204,"percentile":0.1035,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-cq4q-cv5g-r8q5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-cq4q-cv5g-r8q5","summary":"Netty: QUIC stateless reset token material exposed through header-visible connection IDs","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:08.617672687Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"io.netty:netty-codec-classes-quic","purl":"pkg:maven/io.netty/netty-codec-classes-quic","ranges":[">=4.2.0.Final <4.2.15.Final"],"fixed":["4.2.15.Final"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
