{"cve":"CVE-2026-49869","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-26T22:16:32.113","modified":"2026-10-25T17:10:00.197","status":"Analyzed","description":"Kestra is an open-source, event-driven orchestration platform. Prior to 1.0.45 and 1.3.21, AuthenticationFilter in Kestra OSS uses request.getPath().endsWith(\"/configs\") to whitelist the public configuration endpoint from Basic Auth. Because the check is a suffix match rather than an exact path match, any API path whose last segment is configs bypasses authentication entirely. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this to create and execute arbitrary workflows without credentials. Because Kestra ships with script execution plugins (plugin-script-shell, plugin-script-python, etc.) enabled by default, this directly results in unauthenticated Remote Code Execution as root inside the Kestra worker container. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.45 and 1.3.21.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":10.0},"cwes":["CWE-78","CWE-184","CWE-287","CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/kestra-io/kestra/security/advisories/GHSA-5vc5-wxxq-3fjx","https://github.com/kestra-io/kestra/security/advisories/GHSA-5vc5-wxxq-3fjx","https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog?field_cve=CVE-2026-49869"],"products":["kestra:kestra"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:06.907763985+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-49869","score":0.02095,"percentile":0.81535,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":{"cve":"CVE-2026-49869","date_added":"2026-09-02","due_date":"2026-09-05","vendor":"Kestra","product":"Kestra OSS","known_ransomware":false},"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
