{"cve":"CVE-2026-49316","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-29T14:16:32.480","modified":"2026-07-21T12:10:00.090","status":"Deferred","description":"Expected behavior violation in the in-vehicle network of the Indian Motorcycle Scout Bobber + Tech 2025 model year allows an adjacent-network attacker to bypass the motorcycle's anti-theft shutdown by forcing the Wireless Control Module (WCM) into the CAN bus-off state. Using a well-known CAN error-frame injection technique against a periodic WCM transmission, the attacker drives the WCM CAN controller's transmit error counter past the bus-off threshold, after which the WCM stops transmitting all messages, including the shutdown command. Peer ECUs do not interpret WCM silence as a security event and continue normal operation, allowing the motorcycle to be operated despite the immobilizer never having been unlocked. Specific protocol details have been withheld pending vendor remediation.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:P/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":4.1},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:P/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":4.6},"cwes":["CWE-440","CWE-693","CWE-754"],"references":["https://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/440.html"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-49316","score":0.00181,"percentile":0.07659,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
