Prior to 4.1.1, the documented certificateOIDs option in sigstore.verify() is accepted by the public API but discarded before verification, so required certificate extension OIDs are never checked and applications relying on certificateOIDs to restrict which certificates may sign artifacts can accept unauthorized certificates. This issue is fixed in version 4.1.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-347"],"references":["https://github.com/sigstore/sigstore-js/commit/7845532f9d17f6f765363dbee82b01bd159fb52b","https://github.com/sigstore/sigstore-js/pull/1658","https://github.com/sigstore/sigstore-js/releases/tag/sigstore%404.1.1","https://github.com/sigstore/sigstore-js/security/advisories/GHSA-52v5-jr5w-gjxr","https://github.com/sigstore/sigstore-js/security/advisories/GHSA-52v5-jr5w-gjxr"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:06.907763985+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-48815","score":0.00173,"percentile":0.06739,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-52v5-jr5w-gjxr","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-52v5-jr5w-gjxr","summary":"sigstore's `certificateOIDs` verification constraints are silently dropped and never enforced","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:12.262541909Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"sigstore","purl":"pkg:npm/sigstore","ranges":["<4.1.1"],"fixed":["4.1.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
