{"cve":"CVE-2026-48684","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-26T16:16:26.440","modified":"2026-07-24T11:10:00.170","status":"Analyzed","description":"FastNetMon Community Edition through 1.2.9 contains an out-of-bounds read in the NetFlow v9 options template parser. In process_netflow_v9_options_template() (src/netflow_plugin/netflow_v9_collector.cpp), the scope parsing loop (lines 224-229) iterates until scopes_offset reaches the attacker-controlled option_scope_length value, reading netflow9_template_flowset_record_t structures at each step. No bounds check validates that (zone_address + scopes_offset + sizeof(record)) stays within the flowset. The same issue affects the options field loop (lines 241-257) with option_length. Furthermore, option_scope_length is not validated to be a multiple of sizeof(netflow9_template_flowset_record_t), potentially causing misaligned reads. An attacker can trigger reads past the end of the UDP packet buffer.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:L","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-125"],"references":["https://github.com/pavel-odintsov/fastnetmon","https://github.com/pavel-odintsov/fastnetmon/blob/master/src/netflow_plugin/netflow_v9_collector.cpp","https://lorikeetsecurity.com/blog/fastnetmon-cve-2026-48684-netflow-v9-options-oob"],"products":["pavel-odintsov:fastnetmon"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:36:28.938604137+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-48684","score":0.00264,"percentile":0.18347,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
