PyFory's ReduceSerializer could bypass documented DeserializationPolicy validation hooks during reduce-state restoration and global-name resolution. An application is vulnerable if it deserializes attacker-controlled data using PyFory Python-native mode with strict mode disabled and relies on DeserializationPolicy to restrict unsafe classes, functions, or module attributes.\n\nThis issue affects Apache Fory: from before 1.0.0.\n\nMitigation: Users of Apache Fory are recommended to upgrade to version 1.0.0 or later, which enforces DeserializationPolicy validation for the affected ReduceSerializer paths and thus fixes this issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-502"],"references":["https://fory.apache.org/security/#cve-2026-48207-pyfory-reduceserializer-deserializationpolicy-bypass","http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2026/05/21/10"],"products":["apache:fory"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:35:16.954578616+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-48207","score":0.00574,"percentile":0.47442,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-m5gw-83w2-7749","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-m5gw-83w2-7749","summary":"Apache Fory PyFory Deserialization of Untrusted Data ","modified":"2026-07-13T16:42:39.987086715Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyfory","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyfory","ranges":[">=0.13.0 <1.0.0"],"fixed":["1.0.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2984","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2984","summary":"Apache Fory PyFory Deserialization of Untrusted Data ","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:42.676818664Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyfory","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyfory","ranges":[">=0.13.0 <1.0.0"],"fixed":["1.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
