In versions 0.71.0 through 0.315.6, the QueryDepthLimiter extension is vulnerable to an Application-level DOS due to a lack of cycle detection in fragment spreads. When a query contains circular fragment references the determine_depth function enters an infinite recursion, leading to a RecursionError and crashing the validation process. Version 0.315.7 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-400","CWE-674"],"references":["https://github.com/strawberry-graphql/strawberry/releases/tag/0.315.7","https://github.com/strawberry-graphql/strawberry/security/advisories/GHSA-qfwv-87qj-98xq","https://github.com/strawberry-graphql/strawberry/security/advisories/GHSA-qfwv-87qj-98xq"],"products":["strawberry:strawberry_graphql"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-47706","score":0.00296,"percentile":0.22272,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qfwv-87qj-98xq","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qfwv-87qj-98xq","summary":"Strawberry GraphQL has a Circular Fragment Reference DOS","modified":"2026-07-13T07:26:46.578231378Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"strawberry-graphql","purl":"pkg:pypi/strawberry-graphql","ranges":[">=0.71.0 <0.315.7"],"fixed":["0.315.7"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2283","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2283","summary":"","modified":"2026-07-13T07:15:44.052716764Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"strawberry-graphql","purl":"pkg:pypi/strawberry-graphql","ranges":[">=0.71.0 <0.315.7"],"fixed":["0.315.7"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
