{"cve":"CVE-2026-47210","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-12T15:16:29.030","modified":"2026-10-26T11:10:00.157","status":"Deferred","description":"vm2 is an open source vm/sandbox for Node.js. Prior to version 3.11.4, a sandbox escape vulnerability in vm2 allows arbitrary code execution in the host process when untrusted code is executed with async support on runtimes exposing WebAssembly JSPI (WebAssembly.promising / WebAssembly.Suspending). In the tested configuration, a JSPI-backed Promise can reach Promise.prototype.finally() in a way that bypasses the expected Promise-species hardening and exposes a host-originated rejection object to attacker-controlled species logic, breaking the sandbox boundary. This issue has been patched in version 3.11.4.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.8},"cwes":["CWE-913"],"references":["https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/commit/6915fa4d9bcebd47b9a4f39a1adc1aa94ef6ffc6","https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/releases/tag/v3.11.4","https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/security/advisories/GHSA-6j2x-vhqr-qr7q","https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/security/advisories/GHSA-6j2x-vhqr-qr7q"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T11:33:08.859761529+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-47210","score":0.0144,"percentile":0.72999,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-6j2x-vhqr-qr7q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-6j2x-vhqr-qr7q","summary":"vm2 sandbox escape via JSPI-backed Promise `.finally()` species bypass","modified":"2026-06-12T21:00:09.209121556Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vm2","purl":"pkg:npm/vm2","ranges":["<3.11.4"],"fixed":["3.11.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
