Prior to version 3.11.4, NodeVM exposes some process-wide observability builtins when they are allowed through require.builtin. The diagnostics_channel, async_hooks, and perf_hooks builtins are not blocked by the dangerous builtin denylist. These modules are process-wide, not sandbox-local. Sandboxed code can use them to observe host application data across the vm2 boundary. This issue has been patched in version 3.11.4.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-668"],"references":["https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/commit/e1c48fce05189f48e71efbd32af0754efa4066bb","https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/releases/tag/v3.11.4","https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/security/advisories/GHSA-9g8x-92q2-p28f","https://github.com/patriksimek/vm2/security/advisories/GHSA-9g8x-92q2-p28f"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T11:33:08.859761529+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-47141","score":0.00308,"percentile":0.23406,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-9g8x-92q2-p28f","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-9g8x-92q2-p28f","summary":"NodeVM observability builtins leak host process and HTTP request data","modified":"2026-06-12T19:45:09.833645476Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"vm2","purl":"pkg:npm/vm2","ranges":["<3.11.4"],"fixed":["3.11.4"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
