{"cve":"CVE-2026-46701","nvd":{"published":"2026-07-20T17:17:09.990","modified":"2026-10-24T20:10:00.137","status":"Analyzed","description":"Network-AI is a TypeScript/Node.js multi-agent orchestrator. Prior to version 5.4.5, the MCP SSE server defaults to an empty secret (`process.env['NETWORK_AI_MCP_SECRET'] ?? ''` at `bin/mcp-server.ts:89`), which causes `_isAuthorized` (`lib/mcp-transport-sse.ts:254`) to return `true` unconditionally for every request — no `Authorization` header is required. Simultaneously, `_handleRequest` sets `Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *` (`lib/mcp-transport-sse.ts:272`) on every response, so a cross-origin browser fetch can read the result without restriction. An unauthenticated attacker who can lure a user to a malicious web page can invoke all 22 exposed MCP tools — including `config_set`, `agent_spawn`, and `blackboard_write` — against a default-configured localhost server. Version 5.4.5 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:H/A:L","score":7.6},"cwes":["CWE-346"],"references":["https://github.com/Jovancoding/Network-AI/commit/dc5048112283f3f4eb6c06dd2bf5aa93ef9339be","https://github.com/Jovancoding/Network-AI/releases/tag/v5.4.5","https://github.com/Jovancoding/Network-AI/security/advisories/GHSA-j3vx-cx2r-pvg8"],"products":["network-ai:network-ai"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T17:50:08.599881581+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-46701","score":0.0021,"percentile":0.11166,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-j3vx-cx2r-pvg8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-j3vx-cx2r-pvg8","summary":"Network-AI: Unauthenticated Cross-Origin MCP Tool Invocation via Empty Default Secret","modified":"2026-07-08T08:29:24.200115859Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"network-ai","purl":"pkg:npm/network-ai","ranges":["<5.4.5"],"fixed":["5.4.5"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
