Prior to version 2.2.1, a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in get_image_info() allows any authenticated user to force the server to send HTTP requests to arbitrary internal endpoints, including cloud metadata services. This is a blind SSRF with confirmed internal port scanning and internal API triggering capabilities. Version 2.2.1 patches the issue.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/flaskbb/flaskbb/commit/e87e585f54bbe36694e91d52ee9b2d2e65dd4ab5","https://github.com/flaskbb/flaskbb/security/advisories/GHSA-xq32-9g7q-7297","https://github.com/flaskbb/flaskbb/security/advisories/GHSA-xq32-9g7q-7297"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:53.305392138+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-46556","score":0.00354,"percentile":0.29091,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xq32-9g7q-7297","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xq32-9g7q-7297","summary":"FlaskBB: SSRF in get_image_info() via unrestricted avatar URL","modified":"2026-07-13T16:42:35.763564080Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"flaskbb","purl":"pkg:pypi/flaskbb","ranges":["<=2.2.0"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2479","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2479","summary":"FlaskBB: SSRF in get_image_info() via unrestricted avatar URL","modified":"2026-07-13T16:31:46.478606305Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"flaskbb","purl":"pkg:pypi/flaskbb","ranges":["<=2.2.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
