Prior to version 1.5.0, a remote peer can crash any full node by sending a RequestBatchSet message containing the genesis block's hash. The handler calls get_epoch_chunks which iterates backwards through macro blocks using Policy::macro_block_before. When it reaches the genesis block number, macro_block_before panics with \"No macro blocks before genesis block\". This issue has been patched in version 1.5.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L","score":5.3},"cwes":["CWE-617"],"references":["https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/pull/3745","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/releases/tag/v1.5.0","https://github.com/nimiq/core-rs-albatross/security/advisories/GHSA-vghx-352f-93jm"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:38:48.522727527+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-46543","score":0.00291,"percentile":0.21752,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vghx-352f-93jm","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vghx-352f-93jm","summary":"nimiq-blockchain: Genesis batch set request","modified":"2026-06-10T13:45:16.343930493Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"nimiq-blockchain","purl":"pkg:cargo/nimiq-blockchain","ranges":["<1.5.0"],"fixed":["1.5.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
