A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in versions prior to 26.0.0 due to improper sanitization of the `<video-player>` component. The component allows `javascript:` URIs in the `source` attribute, which are executed when the page is viewed. This enables attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript in the context of the victim’s browser and access sensitive data such as JWT tokens and more. Version 26.0.0 fixes the issue.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:P/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:H/SI:H/SA:N","score":9.3},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-116"],"references":["https://github.com/haxtheweb/issues/security/advisories/GHSA-2m6p-hm3w-6jm3","https://github.com/haxtheweb/issues/security/advisories/GHSA-2m6p-hm3w-6jm3"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-46496","score":0.0023,"percentile":0.139,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-2m6p-hm3w-6jm3","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2m6p-hm3w-6jm3","summary":"HAX CMS: Stored XSS via '<video-player>' component allows arbitrary JavaScript execution and token theft","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:04.260595233Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs","purl":"pkg:npm/%40haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs","ranges":["<26.0.0"],"fixed":["26.0.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"@haxtheweb/video-player","purl":"pkg:npm/%40haxtheweb/video-player","ranges":["<26.0.0"],"fixed":["26.0.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
