{"cve":"CVE-2026-46343","nvd":{"published":"2026-08-19T16:17:11.827","modified":"2026-10-27T11:10:00.193","status":"Analyzed","description":"Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From 4.0.0 until 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta2, WazuhCommon.end_receiving_file() in framework/wazuh/core/cluster/common.py allows a cluster-authenticated node to delete files outside WAZUH_PATH. A syn_i_w_m_e request with an unknown task_id reaches the cleanup branch, where an attacker-controlled filename is passed to os.path.join without canonicalization or confinement. Absolute paths and traversal sequences can therefore target files such as ossec.conf, jwt_secret.json, TLS certificates, and ruleset files that are accessible to the Wazuh manager process. Deletion can disable the manager, invalidate API tokens, or disrupt cluster and API connectivity. This issue is fixed in versions 4.14.6 and 5.0.0-beta2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:L/SA:N","score":7.5},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.2},"cwes":["CWE-22"],"references":["https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/commit/90d43547d166cdbe65e9a3d011f946214df9179c","https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/pull/36060","https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/releases/tag/v4.14.6","https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/releases/tag/v5.0.0-beta2","https://github.com/wazuh/wazuh/security/advisories/GHSA-cqvw-w2rg-327f"],"products":["wazuh:wazuh"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-27T11:28:04.741528231+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-46343","score":0.00423,"percentile":0.36398,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
