On some platforms, when\nsp804_clocksource_and_sched_clock_init is called with use_sched_clock\nnot set to 1, sched_clkevt is not properly initialized. However,\nsp804_register_delay_timer is invoked unconditionally, and\nread_current_timer() subsequently calls sp804_read on an uninitialized\nsched_clkevt, leading to a kernel Oops when accessing\nsched_clkevt->value.\n\nDeclare a dedicated clkevt instance exclusively for delay timer,\ninstead of sharing the same clkevt with sched_clock. This ensures\nthat read_current_timer continues to work correctly regardless of\nwhether SP804 is selected as the sched_clock.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-908"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/693b0b594b0f278bafa784984129c0c0f988e352","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/694921a93f3e3621e067afc545cedf6fe3b234a9"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-46257","score":0.001,"percentile":0.00853,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
