If the allocation for\nparts[idx].name fails inside the loop, the code jumps to the err_free\nlabel without freeing buf, leading to a memory leak.\n\nFix this by freeing the temporary buffer buf in the err_free label.\n\nCompile tested only. Issue found using a prototype static analysis tool\nand code review.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-401"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/0f5e62ea5c43146eacdc6861cb1022ffae1b79bc","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/971e9c53aed82f17a9c6a65daa4e21cc15eba5b1","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/980ce2b02dd06a4fdf5fee38b2e14becf9cf7b8b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e97f5fac8ce9a6b9ec724c97d86b0985e915fdca","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/ec121ad626c319085f6d40a52cd04e99b4554926"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:36:28.938604137+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45921","score":0.00122,"percentile":0.01984,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
