If hold reaches 0 while count is still non-zero,\nthe unsigned decrement wraps to UINT_MAX. This keeps hold non-zero for a\nvery long time, so aa_put_buffer() never returns buffers to the global\nlist, which can starve other CPUs and force repeated kmalloc(aa_g_path_max)\nallocations.\n\nGuard the decrement so hold never underflows.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":["CWE-191"],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/202824a1f89a9786c20a3d646a7c88d223abb1b2","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/4bcddd0f6b2e52b4c7b520e4d36a115caf5b7169","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/640cf2f09575c9dc344b3f7be2498d31e3923ead","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/80c334acc6d0bee8605a358a33e69b4aea1ffb92"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:36:28.938604137+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45884","score":0.0016,"percentile":0.05136,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
