Prior to 0.1.9, the mcp-security framework fails to implement the mandatory SSRF mitigations outlined in the Model Context Protocol (MCP) security specifications. Specifically, it processes untrusted URLs for OAuth-related discovery and metadata without verifying if the targets are malicious or internal to the network. This only affects installations with Dynamic Client Registration (DCR) enabled This vulnerability is fixed in 0.1.9.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.5},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/spring-ai-community/mcp-security/security/advisories/GHSA-qjp4-4jvr-xqg3"],"products":["springaicommunity:mcp_security"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45609","score":0.00207,"percentile":0.10851,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qjp4-4jvr-xqg3","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qjp4-4jvr-xqg3","summary":"Spring AI MCP Security: Unvalidated URL Fetching (SSRF)","modified":"2026-06-09T10:45:18.369462455Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Maven","name":"org.springaicommunity:mcp-client-security","purl":"pkg:maven/org.springaicommunity/mcp-client-security","ranges":["<0.1.9"],"fixed":["0.1.9"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
