{"cve":"CVE-2026-45553","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-02T16:16:41.833","modified":"2026-07-22T19:10:00.120","status":"Deferred","description":"NiceGUI is a Python-based UI framework. Prior to version 3.12.0, ui.restructured_text() renders reStructuredText server-side with Docutils without disabling file insertion directives. When a NiceGUI application passes attacker-controlled content to ui.restructured_text(), an attacker can use standard Docutils directives (include, csv-table with :file:, raw with :file:) to read local files readable by the NiceGUI server process. Applications that only pass trusted static strings to ui.restructured_text() are not affected. This issue has been patched in version 3.12.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-200"],"references":["https://github.com/zauberzeug/nicegui/releases/tag/v3.12.0","https://github.com/zauberzeug/nicegui/security/advisories/GHSA-jfrm-rx66-g536"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45553","score":0.00255,"percentile":0.17091,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-jfrm-rx66-g536","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jfrm-rx66-g536","summary":"NiceGUI: Local file disclosure via Docutils file insertion in ui.restructured_text()","modified":"2026-07-13T16:43:04.313444013Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"nicegui","purl":"pkg:pypi/nicegui","ranges":["<3.12.0"],"fixed":["3.12.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2679","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2679","summary":"NiceGUI: Local file disclosure via Docutils file insertion in ui.restructured_text()","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:17.079890952Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"nicegui","purl":"pkg:pypi/nicegui","ranges":["<3.12.0"],"fixed":["3.12.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
