Prior to 0.8.22, the fetch_url tool validates the initial URL's resolved IP address against a restricted-IP blocklist (is_restricted_ip()) to prevent SSRF attacks against internal services (cloud metadata endpoints, localhost, private networks). However, the HTTP client (reqwest) is configured to automatically follow up to 5 redirects (reqwest::redirect::Policy::limited(5)) without re-validating the redirect target against the same SSRF protections. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.8.22.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":7.4},"cwes":["CWE-918"],"references":["https://github.com/Hmbown/CodeWhale/security/advisories/GHSA-96ff-gc8g-wpvg","https://github.com/Hmbown/DeepSeek-TUI/releases/tag/v0.8.22","https://github.com/Hmbown/CodeWhale/security/advisories/GHSA-96ff-gc8g-wpvg"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45310","score":0.00226,"percentile":0.13123,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-96ff-gc8g-wpvg","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-96ff-gc8g-wpvg","summary":"DeepSeek TUI has SSRF via HTTP Redirect Bypass in fetch_url Tool","modified":"2026-06-09T10:30:15.939684123Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"deepseek-tui","purl":"pkg:cargo/deepseek-tui","ranges":["<0.8.22"],"fixed":["0.8.22"]},{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"deepseek-tui-cli","purl":"pkg:cargo/deepseek-tui-cli","ranges":["<0.8.22"],"fixed":["0.8.22"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"deepseek-tui","purl":"pkg:npm/deepseek-tui","ranges":["<0.8.22"],"fixed":["0.8.22"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
