{"cve":"CVE-2026-45302","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-01T19:16:51.113","modified":"2026-07-22T08:10:00.117","status":"Deferred","description":"parse-nested-form-data is a tiny node module for parsing FormData by name into objects and arrays. Prior to version 1.0.1, parseFormData() walks bracket and dot-notation FormData field names into nested objects without filtering reserved property keys. A single FormData field whose name begins with __proto__, or contains .__proto__. mid-path, causes the parser to traverse onto Object.prototype and assign properties there, polluting the prototype chain of every plain object in the running process. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:L","score":8.2},"cwes":["CWE-1321"],"references":["https://github.com/milamer/parse-nested-form-data/commit/527ad58eb486e32438f7198fb88315c20449d792","https://github.com/milamer/parse-nested-form-data/releases/tag/v1.0.1","https://github.com/milamer/parse-nested-form-data/security/advisories/GHSA-xp7r-j8r6-j9h3","https://github.com/milamer/parse-nested-form-data/security/advisories/GHSA-xp7r-j8r6-j9h3"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45302","score":0.00315,"percentile":0.24466,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-xp7r-j8r6-j9h3","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xp7r-j8r6-j9h3","summary":"parse-nested-form-data has Prototype Pollution via `__proto__` in FormData field names","modified":"2026-06-09T11:00:13.797217629Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"parse-nested-form-data","purl":"pkg:npm/parse-nested-form-data","ranges":["<1.0.1"],"fixed":["1.0.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
