From 6.4.24 until 6.4.40, 7.4.12, and 8.0.12, the development profiler file_excerpt Twig filter escapes PHP files through highlight_string() but interpolates lines from non-PHP files directly into <code> elements, allowing stored XSS against a developer who opens an attacker-written file such as var/log/dev.log in the profiler. This issue is fixed in versions 6.4.40, 7.4.12, and 8.0.12.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:N/SC:L/SI:L/SA:N","score":2.0},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://github.com/symfony/symfony/commit/863aa81c61166f1aa74b7732df316f76113acbdb","https://github.com/symfony/symfony/releases/tag/v6.4.40","https://github.com/symfony/symfony/releases/tag/v7.4.12","https://github.com/symfony/symfony/releases/tag/v8.0.12","https://github.com/symfony/symfony/security/advisories/GHSA-hmr5-2xcr-v8pp"],"products":["sensiolabs:symfony"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:45:36.895656543+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45072","score":0.00305,"percentile":0.23318,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
