{"cve":"CVE-2026-45013","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-12T21:16:22.850","modified":"2026-10-25T23:10:00.167","status":"Deferred","description":"ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions up to and including 4.29.0 have a password reset flow that constructs the reset URL using `req.hostname`, which is derived directly from the attacker-controlled HTTP `Host` header when `apos.baseUrl` is not explicitly configured. An unauthenticated attacker who knows a victim's email address can send a crafted reset request that causes the application to email the victim a reset link pointing to the attacker's domain. When the victim clicks the link, the valid reset token is delivered to the attacker, enabling full account takeover. As of time of publication, no known patched versions are available.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-20","CWE-640"],"references":["https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/security/advisories/GHSA-gf43-24g3-5hw2","https://github.com/apostrophecms/apostrophe/security/advisories/GHSA-gf43-24g3-5hw2"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-45013","score":0.0025,"percentile":0.16213,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-gf43-24g3-5hw2","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-gf43-24g3-5hw2","summary":"Apostrophe has a Weak Password Recovery Mechanism for Forgotten Password and Improper Input Validation","modified":"2026-06-12T22:15:11.195098701Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"apostrophe","purl":"pkg:npm/apostrophe","ranges":["<=4.29.0"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
