Prior to 1.7.17, a remote, unauthenticated denial-of-service vulnerability in Batch.Decompress (data/batch/batch.go) allows any peer that participates in a topic served by MultiDataInterceptor to allocate multi-gigabyte heaps on the receiving node from a sub-50 KiB gossip payload. A single packet is sufficient to OOM-kill a validator with conventional memory provisioning. Fleet-wide application affects chain liveness. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.17.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":8.6},"cwes":["CWE-409","CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/security/advisories/GHSA-87m7-qffr-542v","https://github.com/klever-io/klever-go/security/advisories/GHSA-87m7-qffr-542v"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44697","score":0.00396,"percentile":0.33836,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-87m7-qffr-542v","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-87m7-qffr-542v","summary":"Klever-Go MultiDataInterceptor has remote OOM via crafted compressed P2P payload","modified":"2026-07-21T13:53:46Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/klever-io/klever-go","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/klever-io/klever-go","ranges":["<=1.7.16"],"fixed":[]}]},{"id":"GO-2026-5246","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-5246","summary":"Klever-Go MultiDataInterceptor has remote OOM via crafted compressed P2P payload in github.com/klever-io/klever-go","modified":"2026-06-25T19:45:22.846086642Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/klever-io/klever-go","purl":"pkg:golang/github.com/klever-io/klever-go","ranges":["all versions"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
