{"cve":"CVE-2026-44648","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-29T19:16:24.570","modified":"2026-07-22T06:10:00.170","status":"Deferred","description":"SillyTavern is a locally installed user interface that allows users to interact with text generation large language models, image generation engines, and text-to-speech voice models. Prior to 1.18.0, SillyTavern relies on cookie-session for authentication, storing all session data (user handle, permissions) in a signed cookie. The endpoints POST /api/users/change-password and POST /api/users/recover-step2 only update the password hash in the database but do not expire current sessions. Because the session is stateless and stored entirely in the client cookie, there is no server-side mechanism to revoke a token once issued. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.18.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-613"],"references":["https://github.com/SillyTavern/SillyTavern/security/advisories/GHSA-wmm3-h9qj-p5v6","https://github.com/SillyTavern/SillyTavern/security/advisories/GHSA-wmm3-h9qj-p5v6"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:37:48.043517290+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44648","score":0.00394,"percentile":0.33647,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-wmm3-h9qj-p5v6","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-wmm3-h9qj-p5v6","summary":"SillyTavern: Existing sessions are not invalidated after password change, allowing session reuse and account takeover","modified":"2026-06-09T10:45:18.358018917Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"sillytavern","purl":"pkg:npm/sillytavern","ranges":["<1.18.0"],"fixed":["1.18.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
