Prior to 0.9.0, the channel router does not call filter_allowed_access_grants on either create or update paths. A non-admin user who can create group channels (or who owns a channel) can submit arbitrary access grants — including public wildcard grants — and those grants are stored verbatim, bypassing the admin's permission framework. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":5.4},"cwes":["CWE-862"],"references":["https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/security/advisories/GHSA-7rjh-px4v-5w55","https://github.com/open-webui/open-webui/security/advisories/GHSA-7rjh-px4v-5w55"],"products":["openwebui:open_webui"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:35:16.954578616+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44558","score":0.0019,"percentile":0.08736,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-7rjh-px4v-5w55","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-7rjh-px4v-5w55","summary":"Open WebUI's Channel Access Grants Bypass filter_allowed_access_grants","modified":"2026-07-13T16:43:21.071813592Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.9.0"],"fixed":["0.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2711","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2711","summary":"Open WebUI's Channel Access Grants Bypass filter_allowed_access_grants","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:18.740039547Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"open-webui","purl":"pkg:pypi/open-webui","ranges":["<0.9.0"],"fixed":["0.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
