{"cve":"CVE-2026-44492","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-11T17:16:33.167","modified":"2026-09-11T13:18:07.357","status":"Modified","description":"Axios is a promise based HTTP client for the browser and Node.js. Prior to 0.32.0 and 1.16.0, Axios does not normalise IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses. When NO_PROXY lists an IPv4 address such as 127.0.0.1 or 169.254.169.254, a request URL using the IPv4-mapped IPv6 form (::ffff:7f00:1, ::ffff:a9fe:a9fe) still routes through the configured proxy. Node.js resolves these addresses to the underlying IPv4 host, so the request reaches the internal service via the proxy rather than being blocked. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.32.0 and 1.16.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N","score":8.6},"cwes":["CWE-918","CWE-289"],"references":["https://github.com/axios/axios/security/advisories/GHSA-pjwm-pj3p-43mv","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:20889","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:20938","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:27044","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:27063"],"products":["axios:axios"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:38:48.522727527+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44492","score":0.1228,"percentile":0.96184,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-pjwm-pj3p-43mv","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-pjwm-pj3p-43mv","summary":"axios's shouldBypassProxy does not recognize IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses, allowing NO_PROXY bypass (incomplete fix for CVE-2025-62718)","modified":"2026-09-10T03:51:06.693575938Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"axios","purl":"pkg:npm/axios","ranges":[">=1.15.0 <1.16.0"],"fixed":["1.16.0"]},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"axios","purl":"pkg:npm/axios","ranges":["<0.32.0"],"fixed":["0.32.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
