Prior to 0.9.7, when the primary toSmbPath(fullPath) call throws, the method falls back to a dirname/basename split and only validates the directory prefix. The basename is concatenated directly into the smbclient -c script without validation. smbclient interprets ; as a subcommand separator and !cmd as a local-shell escape that runs cmd on the host. A path whose directory component is clean but whose basename contains \"; !<cmd>; echo \" achieves arbitrary command execution on the Lumiverse server. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.7.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-88"],"references":["https://github.com/prolix-oc/Lumiverse/security/advisories/GHSA-4v38-9hqq-7j53","https://github.com/prolix-oc/Lumiverse/security/advisories/GHSA-4v38-9hqq-7j53"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:36:28.938604137+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44449","score":0.00451,"percentile":0.39212,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
