{"cve":"CVE-2026-44368","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-13T21:16:47.730","modified":"2026-10-26T14:10:00.130","status":"Deferred","description":"PyQuorum is a cryptographic library for secret sharing and key management. Prior to 0.2.1, the mul_mod function implements multiplication via a binary expansion loop whose execution time depends on the Hamming weight of the second operand (the exponent). An attacker who can measure the time of secret‑sharing operations (e.g., via a remote service) could progressively recover the values of shares, ultimately leading to secret reconstruction. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.2.1.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-208"],"references":["https://github.com/svvqt/pyquorum/security/advisories/GHSA-7r92-3jgr-r65q"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T14:27:29.784594657+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44368","score":0.00314,"percentile":0.2411,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-7r92-3jgr-r65q","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-7r92-3jgr-r65q","summary":"pyquorum: Timing side‑channel in mul_mod","modified":"2026-07-13T16:43:13.169816775Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyquorum","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyquorum","ranges":["<0.2.1"],"fixed":["0.2.1"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-3028","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-3028","summary":"pyquorum: Timing side‑channel in mul_mod","modified":"2026-07-13T16:33:10.077069776Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"pyquorum","purl":"pkg:pypi/pyquorum","ranges":["<0.2.1"],"fixed":["0.2.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
