Prior to 1.4.39, a malicious bentofile.yaml containing a newline-injected value in envs[*].name produces unquoted RUN directives in the BentoML-generated Dockerfile. When the victim runs bentoml containerize on the imported bento, those RUN directives execute on the host during docker build. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.39.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78","CWE-94"],"references":["https://github.com/bentoml/BentoML/security/advisories/GHSA-w2pm-x38x-jp44","https://github.com/bentoml/BentoML/security/advisories/GHSA-w2pm-x38x-jp44"],"products":["bentoml:bentoml"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:36:28.938604137+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44346","score":0.00321,"percentile":0.2515,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-w2pm-x38x-jp44","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-w2pm-x38x-jp44","summary":"Dockerfile command injection via envs[*].name in bentofile.yaml (sibling fix-bypass of CVE-2026-33744 and CVE-2026-35043)","modified":"2026-06-09T00:00:26.690114269Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"bentoml","purl":"pkg:pypi/bentoml","ranges":["<1.4.39"],"fixed":["1.4.39"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-190","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-190","summary":"","modified":"2026-06-03T12:45:16.305395286Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"bentoml","purl":"pkg:pypi/bentoml","ranges":["<1.4.39"],"fixed":["1.4.39"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
