{"cve":"CVE-2026-44345","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-27T18:16:23.200","modified":"2026-06-17T10:50:32.127","status":"Analyzed","description":"BentoML is a Python library for building online serving systems optimized for AI apps and model inference. Prior to 1.4.39, src/bentoml/_internal/container/frontend/dockerfile/templates/base_v2.j2 interpolates docker.base_image raw with no escaping, newline filtering, or validation. A malicious bento.yaml with a multi-line docker.base_image value smuggles arbitrary Dockerfile directives into the generated Dockerfile, and bentoml containerize then runs docker build which executes the injected RUN directives on the victim host. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.4.39.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-78"],"references":["https://github.com/bentoml/BentoML/security/advisories/GHSA-78f9-r8mh-4xm2","https://github.com/bentoml/BentoML/security/advisories/GHSA-78f9-r8mh-4xm2"],"products":["bentoml:bentoml"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:36:28.938604137+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44345","score":0.00317,"percentile":0.24612,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-78f9-r8mh-4xm2","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-78f9-r8mh-4xm2","summary":"BentoML Dockerfile command injection via docker.base_image (sister of pending GHSA-w2pm-x38x-jp44 / CVE-2026-33744 / CVE-2026-35043)","modified":"2026-06-09T00:00:24.171992237Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"bentoml","purl":"pkg:pypi/bentoml","ranges":["<1.4.39"],"fixed":["1.4.39"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-189","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-189","summary":"","modified":"2026-06-03T12:45:16.765728316Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"bentoml","purl":"pkg:pypi/bentoml","ranges":["<1.4.39"],"fixed":["1.4.39"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
