{"cve":"CVE-2026-44312","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-14T17:16:22.393","modified":"2026-10-26T14:10:00.130","status":"Deferred","description":"css_parser is a Ruby CSS parser. Prior to 2.1.0 and 1.22.0, the CSS Parser gem does not validate HTTPS connections, allowing a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attacker to inject or modify CSS content when stylesheets are loaded via HTTPS. The connection is established with OpenSSL::SSL::VERIFY_NONE, meaning any HTTPS certificate—even entirely untrusted—will be accepted without validation. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.0 and 1.22.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:L/A:N","score":5.8},"cwes":["CWE-295","CWE-829"],"references":["https://github.com/premailer/css_parser/commit/35e689c904225add78e0c488cf04bad052666449","https://github.com/premailer/css_parser/commit/e0c95d5abe91b237becb90ff316531a6547ada18","https://github.com/premailer/css_parser/issues/185","https://github.com/premailer/css_parser/security/advisories/GHSA-ff6c-w6qf-7xqc","https://github.com/premailer/css_parser/security/advisories/GHSA-ff6c-w6qf-7xqc"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T14:27:29.784594657+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44312","score":0.00146,"percentile":0.0379,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-ff6c-w6qf-7xqc","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-ff6c-w6qf-7xqc","summary":"CSS Parser: Improper Certificate Validation allows MITM injection of remote CSS content","modified":"2026-06-08T23:30:16.074085735Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"css_parser","purl":"pkg:gem/css_parser","ranges":[">=2.0.0 <2.1.0"],"fixed":["2.1.0"]},{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"css_parser","purl":"pkg:gem/css_parser","ranges":["<1.22.0"],"fixed":["1.22.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
