{"cve":"CVE-2026-44311","nvd":{"published":"2026-06-22T22:16:46.200","modified":"2026-10-25T23:10:00.167","status":"Analyzed","description":"Fabric.js is a Javascript HTML5 canvas library. Prior to 7.4.0, a potential Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in Fabric.js due to improper escaping of user-controlled input during SVG serialization via the toSVG() method. Specifically, the color field within the colorStops array of a fabric.Gradient object is not properly escaped when converted into SVG <stop> elements. If an application renders the generated SVG string into the DOM, this may allow an attacker to inject arbitrary HTML/SVG and execute JavaScript in the victim's browser. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.4.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79","CWE-116"],"references":["https://github.com/fabricjs/fabric.js/releases/tag/v740","https://github.com/fabricjs/fabric.js/security/advisories/GHSA-w22m-hvvm-xmwx","https://github.com/fabricjs/fabric.js/security/advisories/GHSA-w22m-hvvm-xmwx"],"products":["fabricjs:fabric.js"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-25T23:44:33.281319194+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44311","score":0.00271,"percentile":0.19317,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-w22m-hvvm-xmwx","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-w22m-hvvm-xmwx","summary":"Fabric.js improper escaping in fabric.Gradient colorStops leads to XSS in SVG serialization","modified":"2026-07-18T17:30:29.159820837Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"fabric","purl":"pkg:npm/fabric","ranges":["<7.4.0"],"fixed":["7.4.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
