Prior to 1.9.0, when LDAP TLS is enabled (LDAP_USE_TLS = True), Lemur's LDAP authentication module unconditionally disables TLS certificate verification at the global ldap module level. This allows a man-in-the-middle attacker positioned between Lemur and the LDAP server to intercept all authentication credentials. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":6.8},"cwes":["CWE-295"],"references":["https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-vr7c-r5gj-j3w5","https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-vr7c-r5gj-j3w5"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T00:31:35.753532240+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44305","score":0.00094,"percentile":0.00594,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-vr7c-r5gj-j3w5","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-vr7c-r5gj-j3w5","summary":"Lemur: LDAP Authentication Globally Disables TLS Certificate Verification When LDAP_USE_TLS Is Enabled","modified":"2026-07-13T16:42:40.355260372Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","purl":"pkg:pypi/lemur","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2590","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2590","summary":"Lemur: LDAP Authentication Globally Disables TLS Certificate Verification When LDAP_USE_TLS Is Enabled","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:03.203707167Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","purl":"pkg:pypi/lemur","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
