Prior to 1.9.0, Lemur's LDAP authentication module (lemur/auth/ldap.py) constructs LDAP search filters using unsanitized user input via Python string interpolation. An authenticated LDAP user can inject LDAP filter metacharacters through the username field to manipulate group membership queries and escalate their privileges to administrator. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.9.0.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-90"],"references":["https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-3r34-vq8m-39gh","https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-3r34-vq8m-39gh"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T14:27:29.784594657+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44304","score":0.00179,"percentile":0.07431,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-3r34-vq8m-39gh","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-3r34-vq8m-39gh","summary":"Lemur: LDAP Filter Injection enables post-authentication privilege escalation","modified":"2026-07-13T16:42:26.633967118Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","purl":"pkg:pypi/lemur","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]},{"id":"PYSEC-2026-2585","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-2585","summary":"Lemur: LDAP Filter Injection enables post-authentication privilege escalation","modified":"2026-07-13T16:32:02.190141606Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","purl":"pkg:pypi/lemur","ranges":["<1.9.0"],"fixed":["1.9.0"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
