In versions 3.3.18 and 3.4.8, an application that was taking non-validated user input, escaping it with mysql_real_escape_string() and sending it to the database using text protocol and big5 character set was vulnerable to SQL injections, even though mysql_real_escape_string() was supposed to prevent them. This issue has been patched in versions 3.3.19 and 3.4.9.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":6.9},"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-89"],"references":["https://github.com/MariaDB/server/security/advisories/GHSA-pv9p-5w55-55jm","https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/CONC-819","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:30135","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:43505","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:47772"],"products":["mariadb:mariadb","redhat:enterprise_linux"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T11:33:08.859761529+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-44172","score":0.01041,"percentile":0.63784,"date":"2026-10-25"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"PYSEC-2026-217","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/PYSEC-2026-217","summary":"","modified":"2026-06-17T19:41:04.348078429Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"mariadb","purl":"pkg:pypi/mariadb","ranges":["<=3.3.18","<=3.4.8"],"fixed":[]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
