{"cve":"CVE-2026-4394","nvd":{"published":"2026-04-08T00:16:05.147","modified":"2026-07-24T23:10:00.563","status":"Deferred","description":"The Gravity Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the Credit Card field's 'Card Type' sub-field (`input_<id>.4`) in all versions up to, and including, 2.9.30. This is due to the `get_value_entry_detail()` method in the `GF_Field_CreditCard` class outputting the card type value without escaping, combined with `get_value_save_entry()` accepting and storing unsanitized user input for the `input_<id>.4` parameter. The Card Type field is not rendered on the frontend form (it is normally derived from the card number), but the backend submission parser blindly accepts it if included in the POST request. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when an administrator views the form entry in the WordPress dashboard.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N","score":6.1},"cwes":["CWE-79"],"references":["https://docs.gravityforms.com/gravityforms-change-log/","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gravityforms/tags/2.9.25/includes/fields/class-gf-field-creditcard.php#L516","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gravityforms/tags/2.9.25/includes/fields/class-gf-field-creditcard.php#L577","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gravityforms/trunk/includes/fields/class-gf-field-creditcard.php#L516","https://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/browser/gravityforms/trunk/includes/fields/class-gf-field-creditcard.php#L577"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:28:59.047572785+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-4394","score":0.00291,"percentile":0.21663,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
