{"cve":"CVE-2026-43913","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-11T23:20:22.120","modified":"2026-10-26T18:10:00.173","status":"Analyzed","description":"Vaultwarden is a Bitwarden-compatible server written in Rust. Prior to 1.35.5, Vaultwarden allows an unconfirmed organization owner to purge the entire organization vault. The organization invite flow uses a two-step process: accepting an invite transitions membership from Invited to Accepted, and a separate confirmation by an existing owner upgrades it to Confirmed. The POST /api/ciphers/purge endpoint uses plain Headers and only checks that the membership type is Owner without verifying that the membership status is Confirmed. An authenticated user who has been invited as an organization owner and has accepted the invite and has not yet been confirmed can call this endpoint to hard-delete all ciphers and attachments in the organization,\ncausing immediate organization-wide data loss. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.35.5.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H","score":8.1},"cwes":["CWE-863"],"references":["https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden/security/advisories/GHSA-937x-3j8m-7w7p"],"products":["dani-garcia:vaultwarden"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T18:27:13.530666824+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-43913","score":0.00267,"percentile":0.18648,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
