A malicious client can flood NEW_SERVER messages and exhaust memory.\n\nFix this issue by limiting the maximum number of server registrations to\n256 per node. If the NEW_SERVER message is received for an old port, then\ndon't restrict it as it will get replaced. While at it, also rate limit\nthe error messages in the failure path of qrtr_ns_worker().\n\nNote that the limit of 256 is chosen based on the current platform\nrequirements. If requirement changes in the future, this limit can be\nincreased.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/35fb4a0c077c5d1049c2628b769e0a1b1e65df0d","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3efaad55cad1ded429e3a873bfece389058a526b","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/868202aa2adae427060a42d5bd663b4d782ec02c","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/94914731ca0b99899dceadd80d2df00584a688ca","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/991c431077b19176d3fe3bb54054c063776a8cdc"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:35:16.954578616+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-43491","score":0.00149,"percentile":0.04074,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
