However,\n`pfkey_sockaddr_fill()` initializes only the first 28 bytes of\n`struct sockaddr_in6`, leaving the final 4 aligned bytes uninitialized.\n\nNot every PF_KEY message is affected. The state and policy dump builders\nalready zero the whole message buffer before filling the sockaddr\npayloads. Keep the fix to the export paths that still append aligned\nsockaddr payloads with plain `skb_put()`:\n\n - `SADB_ACQUIRE`\n - `SADB_X_NAT_T_NEW_MAPPING`\n - `SADB_X_MIGRATE`\n\nFix those paths by clearing only the aligned sockaddr tail after\n`pfkey_sockaddr_fill()`.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":5.5},"cwes":[],"references":["https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/11cbf294bac623bd57296f231199193087f57b4a","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2e74f974359b5382ecbe8536abbb5b837eb6c724","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/3c19cb8a84ef709d57943bd6664cf31cb91ba6ec","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/426c355742f02cf743b347d9d7dbdc1bfbfa31ef","https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6df5f90175fe4c584e9960b6c00131a7bf2b5399"],"products":["linux:linux_kernel"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:55.586217763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-43088","score":0.00123,"percentile":0.02001,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
