From version 5.6.3 to before version 5.8.1, devalue.parse could, due to quirks in some JavaScript engines, be convinced to allocate much more memory than was needed when deserializing sparse arrays, leading to excessive memory consumption. This issue has been patched in version 5.8.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":7.5},"cwes":["CWE-770"],"references":["https://github.com/sveltejs/devalue/commit/206ca6712fbc380a4571c59de9ab04b91110792d","https://github.com/sveltejs/devalue/releases/tag/v5.8.1","https://github.com/sveltejs/devalue/security/advisories/GHSA-77vg-94rm-hx3p","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:37272","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:57590"],"products":["svelte:devalue"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:38:48.522727527+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42570","score":0.00397,"percentile":0.33917,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-77vg-94rm-hx3p","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-77vg-94rm-hx3p","summary":"Svelte devalue: DoS via sparse array deserialization","modified":"2026-06-09T18:45:32.246793064Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"devalue","purl":"pkg:npm/devalue","ranges":[">=5.6.3 <5.8.1"],"fixed":["5.8.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
