From version 1.0.0 to before version 1.15.2, fFive config properties (auth, baseURL, socketPath, beforeRedirect, and insecureHTTPParser) in the HTTP adapter are read via direct property access without hasOwnProperty guards, making them exploitable as prototype pollution gadgets. When Object.prototype is polluted by another dependency in the same process, axios silently picks up these polluted values on every outbound HTTP request. This issue has been patched in version 1.15.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N","score":9.1},"cwes":["CWE-1321","CWE-915"],"references":["https://github.com/axios/axios/commit/47915144662f2733e6c051bdcb895a8c8f0586aa","https://github.com/axios/axios/pull/10779","https://github.com/axios/axios/releases/tag/v1.15.2","https://github.com/axios/axios/security/advisories/GHSA-q8qp-cvcw-x6jj","https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:20889"],"products":["axios:axios"],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:55.586217763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42264","score":0.00797,"percentile":0.56505,"date":"2026-10-31"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-q8qp-cvcw-x6jj","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-q8qp-cvcw-x6jj","summary":"Axios has prototype pollution read-side gadgets in HTTP adapter that allow credential injection and request hijacking","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:55.280623838Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"axios","purl":"pkg:npm/axios","ranges":[">=1.0.0 <1.15.2"],"fixed":["1.15.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
