{"cve":"CVE-2026-42212","nvd":{"published":"2026-05-08T22:16:32.243","modified":"2026-10-26T18:10:00.173","status":"Deferred","description":"SolidCAM-GPPL-IDE is an unofficial, independently developed extension, Postprocessor IDE for SolidCAM. From version 1.0.0 to before version 1.0.2, Opening a .gpp file in the SolidCAM Postprocessor IDE extension causes the language server to parse a companion .vmid file from the same directory (naming convention: foo.gpp to foo.vmid). The VMID parser called XDocument.Load(path) without any XmlReaderSettings, inheriting the framework defaults which in .NET 8 allow DTD processing. A malicious .vmid file could therefore: disclose local files via external entity references, exhaust memory via recursive entity expansion, and cause denial of service via oversized or deeply nested XML. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.2.","cvss_v4":{"vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:P/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N","score":7.1},"cvss_v3":null,"cwes":["CWE-400","CWE-611","CWE-776"],"references":["https://github.com/anzory/SolidCAM-GPPL-IDE/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#102--2026-04-20","https://github.com/anzory/SolidCAM-GPPL-IDE/commit/9d0ba808afd143ede448026a5dc681bfdc5c138d","https://github.com/anzory/SolidCAM-GPPL-IDE/releases/tag/v1.0.2","https://github.com/anzory/SolidCAM-GPPL-IDE/security/advisories/GHSA-92vg-f4fq-fxm9","https://github.com/anzory/SolidCAM-GPPL-IDE/security/advisories/GHSA-92vg-f4fq-fxm9"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T18:27:13.530666824+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42212","score":0.00314,"percentile":0.24141,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
