Prior to version 3.31.2, a broken access control vulnerability was identified in the ActionsController of the Avo framework. Due to insecure action lookup logic, an authenticated user can execute any Action class (descendants of Avo::BaseAction) on any resource, even if the action is not registered for that specific resource. This leads to Privilege Escalation and unauthorized data manipulation across the entire application. This issue has been patched in version 3.31.2.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","score":8.8},"cwes":["CWE-284","CWE-639"],"references":["https://github.com/avo-hq/avo/releases/tag/v3.31.2","https://github.com/avo-hq/avo/security/advisories/GHSA-qc5p-3mg5-9fh8","https://github.com/avo-hq/avo/security/advisories/GHSA-qc5p-3mg5-9fh8"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-19T22:33:55.586217763+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42205","score":0.00295,"percentile":0.22129,"date":"2026-11-01"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-qc5p-3mg5-9fh8","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qc5p-3mg5-9fh8","summary":"Avo: Broken Access Control Through Unauthorized Execution of Arbitrary Action Classes Across Resources","modified":"2026-06-08T23:30:14.465429678Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"avo","purl":"pkg:gem/avo","ranges":["<3.31.2"],"fixed":["3.31.2"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
