From version 0.17.0 to before version 1.0.1, an integer overflow in Grid::expand_rows() can corrupt the relationship between the grid’s logical dimensions and its backing storage. After the internal invariant is broken, the safe API get() may invoke get_unchecked() with an invalid index, resulting in Undefined Behavior. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.1.","cvss_v4":null,"cvss_v3":{"version":"3.1","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H","score":6.2},"cwes":["CWE-190"],"references":["https://github.com/becheran/grid/commit/be213bd3528727148bef2d523c89e95d1fd9c072","https://github.com/becheran/grid/releases/tag/v1.0.1","https://github.com/becheran/grid/security/advisories/GHSA-38c5-483c-4qqp","https://github.com/becheran/grid/security/advisories/GHSA-38c5-483c-4qqp"],"products":[],"source":"nvd","synced_at":"2026-10-26T18:27:13.530666824+00:00"},"epss":{"cve":"CVE-2026-42199","score":0.00132,"percentile":0.02757,"date":"2026-10-26"},"kev":null,"osv":[{"id":"GHSA-38c5-483c-4qqp","url":"https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-38c5-483c-4qqp","summary":"Grid: Integer Overflow in Grid::expand_rows Leads to Safe-API Undefined Behavior","modified":"2026-09-10T03:50:42.378939247Z","packages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"grid","purl":"pkg:cargo/grid","ranges":[">=0.17.0 <1.0.1"],"fixed":["1.0.1"]}]}],"attribution":["This product uses the NVD API but is not endorsed or certified by the NVD.","EPSS scores: FIRST Exploit Prediction Scoring System, https://www.first.org/epss","Known exploited vulnerabilities: CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog, https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog","Package advisories: OSV (https://osv.dev), from the GitHub Advisory Database, PyPA, Go, RustSec and other ecosystem databases, under CC-BY 4.0 or CC0","CVE records: the CVE Program's CVE List (https://www.cve.org), under its terms of use (https://www.cve.org/Legal/TermsOfUse).
